Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic Revises Schedule Back to ATRC
Huge Growth inspires a Two Arena Format in 2008!
Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic Chairperson, Tami Wagman, announced that the Oklahoma Reining Horse Association (OKRHA) and the Tulsa Expo Square have reached an agreement allowing the Ariat Tulsa Reining Classic to move to a two show arena format.

“Our huge growth demanded that we run a second arena to accommodate the large number of entries. Because of the timing of other events at Expo Square, we could not extend the number of show days.”

The second show pen will be located on the east end of the fairgrounds in the 125 x 225 climate controlled Super Duty arena which will include its own 100 x 200 warm up arena in the Super Duty Barn. Some of the stalling which was on the far west side the fairgrounds in the Expedition barn will be moved to the Super Duty Barn.

The other show arena, the same as the previous year, will be the 150 x 300 climate controlled Ford Truck Arena with 150 x 90 adjacent staging area. The Mustang Arena to the north of the Ford Truck Arena will again serve as its warm up.

“We are fortunate in Tulsa to have the facilities to run two amazing show arenas with two outstanding warm up arenas. Having two show pens will allow the show to get over early in the evening and the four total arenas provide exhibitors many great places to ride.”

Having two show arenas also allows OKRHA to add a few classes. Wagman noted, “Many exhibitors, especially our non pro competitors, wanted to be able to show more than once in their respective divisions. The second show pen will allow us to have a second slate of non pro classes, as well as run a second rookie professional, limited open and intermediate open class.”
