A Day With The Pros Reining Clinic

Purcell, Oklahoma was sunny and breezy as reiners gathered on May 31, 2008 at Todd and Heidi Arvidson’s Ranch for Oklahoma Reining Horse Association’s clinic, “A Day With the Pros”.

The parking lot was full of pickups and horse trailers as 18 adults and 8 kids participated--anxious to ride with professional reining horse trainers, Todd Arvidson, Jody Brainard, John Horn, Jeremy Lipps, Sue Waskowiak and Sean Johnson. The pros broke into small groups and took the riders through the required reining maneuvers, penalties, and show day preparation. The groups rotated so that all the riders worked with all the pros.

Billy and Laura Robinson, both leaders in OKRHA, were on hand at noon to grill hamburgers and hot dogs.

Thanks to Todd and Pam Crawford for the last minute donation of buckets and buckets of ice to keep all the cool beverages flowing. Special thanks to Todd and Heidi Arvidson for providing the great facility, Heidi for organizing such a well run clinic, and all the professionals for supporting OKRHA and donating their time and gas money to help riders be better reiners.
