Year End Award Conditions of Eligibility
Any balances due the Oklahoma Reining Horse Association must be paid in full to be eligible to win year end awards. Any rider or owner with a balance due will forfeit their winnings in any year end award placing if balance is not paid in full within 30 days of posting of the final year end results (11-24-08).
OKRHA members need to complete one half day of service (i.e. scribe, office, back gate, stall check in, banner hanging, etc.) at one of the shows to be eligible for year end awards. Family members and/or employees (in the case of a trainer's barn employee completing the work for the trainer) of members can work the segment for the member. If you have not fulfilled your service for 2008, please contact Tami Wagman (918) 857-2725 or Carole Hoffman at 918- 688-5124 to volunteer at the Tulsa Classic.
OKRHA members must compete on the same horse for at least one half of the shows in the respective class they are vying for the year end award in. Some of the classes will be offered 6 times during 2008, some will be offered 5 times during 2008. In both cases, 3 classes must be exhibited in to be eligible for that class year end award. In the case of the Green Rider and Green Horse class, each of these classes have been offered 2 times during 2008, OKRHA members must have shown in both classes on the same horse.
Only classes competed in subsequent to payment of OKRHA membership dues will count toward year end awards, or payment before conclusion of event in which exhibitor competed.
Year End Standings Calculations
OKRHA year-end standings are calculated based on the number of member entries in each class. The total number of member entries equals the total number of points awarded in each class. In the case of ties, the placing points are added together and equally distributed to the members who tied. For example, if a class had 12 member entries and the first two placings were a tie, the available points would be 23 (12 for first place + 11 points for second place) divided by 2 (the number of tied member placings), therefore, the two tying member placings would received 11.5 points each.
In the case of zero scores, the available points are added together and then equally distributed to the member placings with a zero score. For example, if a class had four zeros, the available points are 10 (4 + 3 + 2 + 1) divided by 4, so each member receiving the zero score would receive 2.5 points.
Membership is determined on the date the 2008 membership fee was paid. Members will not earn points for shows prior to becoming a member.
Should you have any questions regarding application of year-end points, please send an email to Carole Hoffman at choffman@atlasok.com.
